Erin Garnett, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Erin is a native St. Louis, Missourian (Blues and Cardinals proud!), but moved to Lexington in late summer of 2018 for a job opportunity. She is no stranger to living away from home, however. She completed her undergraduate Bachelor's degree from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado and after graduation, spent a year living, working, and SCUBA diving in the Caribbean as an Intern and Waterfront Specialist at the School for Field Studies. After her year in a desert paradise, she returned to the states and attended courses at the University of Missouri - St. Louis while working in the Emergency Department at a local St. Charles, MO hospital. She then finally made the life decision to pursue her passion and returned to college, attending Physical Therapist Assistant school in Kansas City, Missouri (go Chiefs!).
She found a love for physical therapy after her first surgery at age 15, and after several other injuries - and surgeries with stints in physical therapy to boot - she decided to pursue this passion. Her clinical interests include orthopedic conditions, sports medicine, low back dysfunction, and post-surgical rehab, but she loves the array of therapy services that BGO has to offer. She is committed to providing personalized care which allows her to connect with patients, hear their stories, and assist in the return to their previous way of life while also (hopefully) allowing therapy to be an enjoyable experience!
In her free time, she loves adventuring with her island pup, Remi, whom she rescued during her time in the Caribbean, and participates in a myriad of intramural sports. She also enjoys canoeing, kayaking, and boating (but really, being near any body of water), finding the next best cider (or wine), keeping in touch and spending time with family and friends near and far, and figuring out all that Lexington has to offer!
