Bluegrass Orthopaedics Welcomes New Executive Leader

Seasoned Healthcare Leader Dean Hanlon, MS, PT Named Senior Vice President

LEXINGTON, KY - (February 9, 2023) Bluegrass Orthopaedics (BGO), a premier provider of comprehensive orthopaedic services in Central Kentucky, and Growth Orthopedics, a managed service organization that partners with independent orthopedic practices, have been working diligently in seeking a leader for the organization that has the experience and qualities believed is vital to both grow and represent the practice throughout the region, but also has the relationship building abilities and cultural fit for BGO. After a lengthy and thorough search, BGO is pleased to welcome Dean Hanlon, MS, PT as its Senior Vice President and executive leader. Hanlon began his role on February 6.

Hanlon and his wife Lisa have lived in the Lexington area since 2007, relocating from Steamboat Springs where he was a physical therapist at Yampa Valley Medical Center. He served at UK Healthcare for 12 years as Ambulatory Director of Clinical Operations for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences, and most recently as the Enterprise Director of Rehabilitation Services. Prior to those positions, Hanlon also worked clinically at UK Sports Rehab managing the clinic and treating as a physical therapist, working closely with their sports medicine physicians. Hanlon has also served in hospital administrative roles in his home state of New York from 1994 through 1999.

"I am excited to join the Bluegrass Orthopaedics (BGO) family of highly skilled physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, hand specialists, athletic trainers and support teams," says Hanlon. "Everyone at BGO has warmly welcomed me and my family into theirs and for that I am grateful. I look forward to working closely with everyone as we continue to grow and care for more patients throughout the Bluegrass area and beyond. I am truly humbled to be a part of this team."

Hanlon earned a Master's in Management and Policy at W. Averell Harriman School at SUNY Stony Brook, as well as a Physical Therapy degree from SUNY Buffalo. BGO is pleased to welcome Dean, his wife Lisa, and his children Dean "Will" and Grace Alison to the BGO family.
