Biography

Megan Wakefield, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, brings more than two decades of experience in outpatient orthopedic care to her role at Bluegrass Orthopaedics. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Miami University in 2001 and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Belmont University in 2004.

Before joining the team in Lexington in 2025, Megan spent over two decades in a private outpatient orthopedic practice in Nashville, working closely with patients to support their recovery and return to activity. She is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) and has pursued extensive continuing education through courses led by respected leaders in the field, including Kevin Wilk, George Davies, Stuart McGill, Adriaan Louw, the McKenzie Institute, Maitland, and the Institute of Clinical Excellence.

Megan is passionate about helping patients set realistic, meaningful goals and guiding them toward lasting improvement. She takes pride in creating a supportive environment where patients feel confident and empowered throughout their recovery journey.

Outside of the clinic, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. As a family, they love hiking, trail running, game nights, and traveling together.
