Biography
Zac Blaydes is a physical therapist at Bluegrass Orthopaedics who specializes in sports rehabilitation, post-operative care, and helping individuals return to an active lifestyle. Originally from Midway, Kentucky, he earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Evansville, where he was also a member of the men’s soccer team. His experience as a student-athlete sparked a strong interest in human movement, performance, and recovery.
After graduation, Zac completed a sports residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Young Athlete Center, where he also gained experience working with St. Louis City SC’s first team, second team, and academy athletes. He is a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is trained in dry needling.
Zac focuses on individualized, goal driven care, using objective measures such as strength testing, mobility assessments, and functional outcome tracking to guide treatment and monitor progress. He is passionate about building strong relationships with patients and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable and confident throughout their rehabilitation. Zac finds the greatest fulfillment in helping patients regain strength, confidence, and the ability to return to the activities they enjoy.
Outside of the clinic, Zac enjoys playing golf and pickleball, watching movies, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
