Dr. Favetto is a hand surgeon and partner at Bluegrass Orthopaedics. He received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires, School of Medicine in Argentina. He is board certified in orthopaedics and traumatology by the Ministry of Health and Social Action in Argentina. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Eva Peron Hospital in San Martin, Argentina. After relocating to Kentucky, Dr. Favetto completed a fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Micro Surgery in Kentucky. He continued at the Kleinert Institute as Senior Fellow and ultimately as Hand Scholar. Dr. Favetto is a teacher and lecturer in upper-extremity hand injuries and trauma with an emphasis on wrist and elbow arthroscopy.
Dr. Favetto was one of the chief surgeons on the transplant team that performed the first two of three human hand transplants in the United States.

Dr. Favetto is simply the best. I have seen him off and on for at least 15 yrs. I first saw him after a complicated hand fracture when he was with Kleinert and Kutz. I later followed him to Bluegrass Ortho. Now he is treating my trigger...Dr. Favetto is simply the best. I have seen him off and on for at least 15 yrs. I first saw him after a complicated hand fracture when he was with Kleinert and Kutz. I later followed him to Bluegrass Ortho. Now he is treating my trigger fingers. He also operated on my son's left hand about 5 years ago (who is a violinist in the Cleveland Orchestra). My family loves Dr Favetto and won't stop anywhere until we get to him for any hand problems that come up. I also refer any patient of mine who has a complicated hand or arm problem to him.

Dr. Favetto is amazing. I walked into his office in pain and walked out pain free. He completely explained my condition and my options so that I could make an informed decision. I chose a steroid shot for my hand and it worked miracles....Dr. Favetto is amazing. I walked into his office in pain and walked out pain free. He also told me that the length of the pain relief would differ from patient to patient and that would further help me to decide if I wanted to have surgery for the arthritis. I had a severely swollen and painful hand and after my family doctor called he got me in immediately and then also scheduled a followup a few days later. All while booked up and I didn't have more than 15 minutes wait.
