Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Christensen earned his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1992. He went on to complete his postgraduate residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He then performed a hip and knee adult reconstruction fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston from 1998 to 2003. He moved to Lexington in 2003 after joining the Lexington Clinic and worked there until 2016.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is an expert in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery including direct anterior hip replacement and partial knee replacement. He also specializes in complex revision hip and knee replacement. He has authored numerous papers and made presentations at national meetings involving joint replacement. Dr. Christensen's Hospital affiliation is St. Joseph East Hospital.

Dr. Christensen does participate in workers compensation, quality assurance programs, and second opinions.

I have had surgery performed by Dr. Christiansen three times: Partial knee 10 years ago, total in 2014 & total in 2018. He is a caring Christian man and an excellent surgeon. Great experience, done as outpatient surgery in the surgery center. Very good, I was well informed about what was going to happen and what to prepare for. I have not had any issues with the surgery and feel great. Had other issues that... Great experience, done as outpatient surgery in the surgery center. Dr. Christensen and his staff are excellent at what they do,- but of equal importance they seem to be very good people. Some medical experiences can be summed up as a staff that serves people but has a low level of respect for persons.... I prayed all spring and summer for god to lead someone across my path with the best of best doctor that was a godly man/woman for my knees ,I'm so thankful he answered my prayers, he was not only a Christian but he prayed for the...
