How Long Does it Take to Recover from Elbow Surgery?

Your orthopedic surgeon will explain your procedure and what's required during recovery. Recovery time can range from weeks to months, depending on the type of surgery, overall health, and extent of the injury. Arthroscopic elbow surgery or simple tendon repairs may take 4 to 6 weeks to recover, while elbow fracture repair, ligament reconstruction, or elbow replacement surgery may take 3 to 6 months or more. BGO's Champion patient comes from London, KY - Ms. Sydney Parker. Sydney is an animal lover, and was injured after a fall from her horse in October of 2018. She fractured and dislocated her elbow, which unfortunately led to surgery in October of 2018 - a complicated procedure that required an open reduction internal fixation as well as an ulnar nerve decompression and transposition. Sydney had fractured her trochlea, lateral condyle of her elbow, as well as her olecranon.

I have been treated by Dr.D’Angelo for my deteriorating knee. I have cadaver ligaments in my right knee. My knee was good as new for a period of five years. Ineed someone to fix my bone deterioration. These guy’s have taken care of me with great concern and insight.They do not want to do surgery first thing. I would have to rate Dr. O'Neill as excellent. Not only is he competent, but very knowledgable. He did carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand in 2009 and I have had NO residual numbness. I started having pain in my thumb joints in... I would have to rate Dr. O'Neill as excellent. Not only is he competent, but very knowledgable. He did carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand in 2009 and I have had NO residual numbness. I started having pain in my thumb joints in November, 2015 and the pain remained constant. I saw Dr. O'Neill in May, 2016. He recommended injections and advised they may be painful. I had them in both thumbs and by the next day, I have no pain in my thumbs joints! I am extremely satisfied!
